The U.S. Embassy has partnered with AMCHAM and a number of charitable organizations to host a volunteer day of service in commemoration of 9/11 and welcomes all AMCHAM members to participate.
Full details about the different activities may be found below. Please register to volunteer by Tuesday, September 4. Your name and contact details will be provided to the Embassy team lead for each activity, and you will be contacted prior to the event with more details about where and when to meet.

Volunteer Opportunity: This event will be a wonderful opportunity to interact with 40 young, disadvantaged children ages 2-5 years old, whose families are poor, single, or migrant workers living in the low-income communities in the northeastern suburb of Bangkok. Volunteers will decorate the venue and set up activities and game stations, prepare easy treats for the children, host a lunch, and frost and distribute “birthday” cupcakes. | Volunteer Opportunity: We are looking for volunteers to help transform a former orphanage building into a space for the community that will house a learning and development center, classrooms for English instruction, and rooms to shelter destitute tourists and refugees. Volunteers may also assist in community cleaning projects and visit members of the community to deliver clothes, diapers, food, and other necessities. Volunteers may be required to carry heavy items and should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. | Volunteer Opportunity: Participants will visit the Duang Prateep Foundation and pack 50 care packages for incapacitated persons in the Klong Toey community and then deliver the packages to them. Afterwards, participants will help distribute lunch for community children, and they will interact with them during lunch hour. |
About the Organization: Baan Nokkamin Foundation was established in November 1989. The Foundation supports a broad range of activities for the underprivileged, including support for the elderly with dementia, housing for homeless children, and formula for infants. | About the Organization: The Bangkok Community Help Foundation works on a variety of initiatives to assist the Klong Toei community. This includes projects focused on helping the homeless and the elderly, community improvement, building homes, clean water projects, English language instruction, plastic waste collection, and the establishment of a learning development center. |
About the Organization:The Duang Prateep Foundation (DPF) was founded in 1978. It is committed to improving education standards and living conditions for those living in the slums. It provides education, social service programs, and an emergency fund for victims of fires or other disasters. |

Volunteer Opportunity: The first round of volunteers will meet at the iCare Foundation Warehouse to load supplies onto trucks and then unload at the packing venue (ISB or Chaengwattana Church). Volunteer Opportunity: Spend the morning or afternoon helping PAWS improve their shelter for rescued cats by cleaning and painting the facility. Volunteers will have an opportunity to interact with the cats, or even adopt one, when the work is done. | Volunteer Opportunity: Please join a group of environmentally conscious colleagues to learn about the importance of reducing and recycling plastic waste in our communities. On this year’s Day of Service, Precious Plastic Bangkok (PPB) will organize an educational workshop on plastic waste reduction and upcycling (turning plastic waste into useful products). Activities will include a community clean-up (trash collection and separation), a briefing on how the organization upcycles certain types of plastic waste (such as bottle caps), and a demonstration of the machine that converts plastic waste into a useful household item. | Volunteer Opportunity: Embark on a transformative journey of community service with the TAB Foundation. About the Organization: The Vulcan Coalition was founded to solve two issues – the lack of data labeling workers in Thailand’s AI industry and a large number of persons with disabilities who are looking for employment. According to their research, people with disabilities have superior cognitive abilities, so the group developed a data platform that enables them to work at peak efficiency. Their deaf employees work in imaging, and their blind employees work in the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority’s call center. |
