DFDL Briefing on Insight and Strategies for an Efficient International Arbitration at SIAC
AMCHAM Thailand and DFDL Thailand are pleased to invite you to join their session on Thai Arbitration.
Insight and Strategies for an Efficient International Arbitration at SIAC
(followed by a panel discussion focusing on construction arbitration)
In recent years, arbitration has taken on a much more significant role as the best method to resolve disputes, with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (?SIAC?) being one of the foremost venues chosen for international arbitration. As more investment continues to flow into South East Asia, international investors are increasingly looking for ways to protect their investments. In the event of a disagreement or dispute, there is an increasing need for a neutral and impartial forum - for all sides to have their issues resolved.
The seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the SIAC Arbitration Rules (6th Edition, 1 August 2016); illustrate examples of how they have been implemented; show how they have been used to efficiently resolve contractual disputes; and also highlight how arbitration has been pivotal in securing investment into jurisdictions that international investors have traditionally been cautious about making large scale capital inflows into. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion on construction arbitration in Thailand, focusing on the increasing use of arbitration to resolve construction disputes.
