About our speakers:
Ira E. Blumenthal is the Senior Partner of Blumenthal Richter & Sumet. As a co founding partner, Ira has established himself as a committed legal advisor, adeptly aiding the firm's foreign clients to meet the demands of Thailand and South East Asia's dynamic legal and regulatory environment. Drawing upon both his legal expertise and entrepreneurial acumen, he has represented foreign clients for over 25 years in some of Thailand's most noteworthy land purchases, including advanced multi purpose residential and commercial enterprises, luxury villa developments, and high profile hotel projects. Principal practices of this accomplished lawyer revolve around foreign direct investment, property, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate matters in Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. Ira's industry expertise spans a multitude of sectors including automotive, chemicals, minerals, internet related projects, manufacturing, real estate, and technology. Beyond his legal career, Ira is an active private investor, having provided seed funding for many entrepreneurial ventures.
Matthew Stevens is the Managing Director of Global US Tax Plan, an SME in Thailand which specializes in helping US persons residing and doing business throughout Asia minimize their US taxes while staying in compliance with the US tax regulations. Even though Matthew’s specialty is US-centric, as a Managing Director of a Thai SME, he is knowledgeable about the requirements and best practices for people doing business in Thailand.
Pin Kasemsiri is the Business Development & Partnership Lead of Generation Thailand. Pin is currently working to expand partnership among employers, foundations, and other key strategic partners that share the similar vision of bridging the gap between employment and education. Before joining Generation Thailand, Pin co-founded CareerVisa, a social startup that focuses on equipping new generations with clear career goals and supporting their skill development. Pin has spent 6 years advising global and local brands for their strategic communication for both Thai and ASEAN markets. She is also recognized as AVPN Youth Leader 2022 and Obama Foundation Asia Pacific Leaders 2023.
Tarinee Krajangwuttichai is the Tax and Legal Manager of BDO in Thailand. Tarinee has over 10 years of experience in providing tax and legal assistance, as well as Board of Investment (BOI) Advisory Services, inward investment advisory, company formation & company secretarial assistance, and other advisory assistance to clients. Prior to joining BDO in Thailand, she worked for law firms in Thailand, where she honed her skills in advising clients on various tax and legal matters. She has worked with several foreign investors conducting business in Thailand and assisted the companies with several licenses and permit. As a Tax and Legal Manager at BDO in Thailand, Tarinee is responsible for leading the team that provides practical solutions for conducting business and comply with the regulations in Thailand, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethics.
Jason Corbett is the founder and Managing Partner of Silk Legal, a law firm that advises both foreign and domestic clients on matters pertaining to blockchain, fintech, decentralized finance, restructuring and insolvency, and corporate practice. With six years of experience in blockchain regulations, Jason has provided legal counsel to numerous leaders in the blockchain space who participate in a broad set of industries including fintech, e-commerce, gaming, and banking. He has likewise worked with several well-known ICOs, protocols, exchanges, and VAPS. Jason’s cross-jurisdictional expertise has also allowed him to contribute to industry best practices surrounding blockchain technology and has been invited as a key speaker at several events. Jason is also an entrepreneur involved in start-ups and SMEs in banking, finance, e-commerce, beverage manufacturing, hospitality, blockchain, and technology.
Sam Tanskul is the Managing Director of Krungsri Finnovate. He fully leads the Fintech/Startup initiatives in Thailand and the region, with a key focus on three areas: accelerator and academic collaboration, startup project management, and corporate venture capital for Krungsri Group under MUFG, emphasizing technological innovation investment in Thailand and ASEAN. He is also one of the board members of the Thai Fintech Association. With experience in the financial industry and in Thailand's startup community, Sam leads Krungsri Finnovate, a subsidiary of Krungsri, with a focus on technological innovation investment in Thailand and ASEAN. With over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry with several leading organizations, including UOB, GE Capital, and Krungsri Consumer, in product management and innovation. Since 2014, he has been a part of Thailand's startup ecosystem and is one of the core members behind the success of 'Krungsri Uni Startup,' a platform for the young, creative generation to develop financial mobile applications in pursuit of their aspiration to become professional startups, and 'Krungsri Rise,' the first fintech corporate accelerator in Thailand.
