Description
Join the AMCHAM and Legal Committee for a critical discussion on "The U.S. Presidential Election and its Potential Impact on Trade in Thailand and Asia." This session is a must-attend for all members interested in possible changes to U.S. trade policy that could significantly influence trade and business dynamics between Thailand and the U.S. and the region.
Our distinguished speaker, Jamieson Greer, Partner at King & Spalding, brings a wealth of expertise in international trade where his practice covers trade policy, trade remedies and representing manufacturing, technology, energy, pharmaceutical, agriculture, financial services, hospitality, and aerospace and defense companies. Mr. Greer previously served as Chief of Staff at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, where he played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. trade policy. His insights into the potential shifts in trade policies under different U.S. administrations have been published in the New York Times, Politico and his testimony is often sought by the U.S Congress. This session will provide invaluable knowledge for businesses operating in Thailand and Asia.
Don't miss this opportunity to gain strategic insights and prepare for the changes that the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election may bring to the global trade landscape.
Our Speaker:
Jamieson L. Greer is a partner in the International Trade team at King & Spalding. His practice covers trade remedies, trade policy and negotiations, export and import compliance, and CFIUS matters. He has represented clients in trade remedy litigation before the Department of Commerce, the International Trade Commission and federal courts. He has also assisted clients with advocacy before senior government officials and agencies with jurisdiction over international trade matters. His clients include companies in basic and advanced manufacturing, technology, energy, agriculture, and aerospace and defense sectors.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Jamieson was the Chief of Staff to the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), Ambassador Robert Lighthizer. He worked very closely with Ambassador Lighthizer and senior White House officials on developing and implementing trade policy and advised the USTR on all aspects of the agency’s mission. Before working at USTR, Jamieson spent several years in private practice focusing on trade-related matters, from compliance with U.S. export controls to transactions subject to CFIUS’s approval, trade remedies and antidumping laws.
