Description
Failure to achieve Net Zero future and increasing physical impacts of climate change as a result have been recognized among top risks for the global economy by the World Economic Forum.
Today, climate change is not just an environmental issue, but a business imperative. For manufacturing companies, there is an increasing pressure from regulators, investors, lenders, customers and other stakeholders to accelerate their decarbonization efforts and transparently report on their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and achievements in GHG reductions. Thailand has committed to carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero GHG emissions by 2065 with a draft Climate Change Act on its way to support such targets and incentivize climate change mitigation actions across industries operating in the country. This includes potential introduction of a carbon pricing regulation in Thailand, following examples of Singapore and Indonesia. All this creates more pressure for companies’ GHG accounting, mitigation and reporting. While companies embark on their decarbonization journey and announce their Net Zero commitments, there are still various challenges they face, particularly around GHG data collection across operations and value chain.
Join us to learn from a team of ERM experts who work with manufacturing companies in Thailand and across the globe, on how to overcome data challenges and improve internal GHG data management and external reporting practices.
