About Us
Bangkok Patana School was founded in 1957 to provide a British-type education for the children of expatriates living in Bangkok. A non-profit foundation, the school currently has an enrollment of over 2,200 students representing 65 nationalities. Over eight percent of students are American citizens and the school is recognized by the U.S. State Department as suitable for U.S. government employees.
The students range from 1.5 to 18+ years of age. They follow the English National Curriculum until 16, when students sit IGCSE examinations, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma is taken at 18. The excellent results in external examinations are published annually in a Student Achievement booklet, which is available online. The School is accredited by the New England Council of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is an IB World School. Bangkok Patana School provides an extensive extra-curricular activities programme and is a testing centre for SATs.
