About Us

Caterpillar began its presence in Thailand over 40 years ago to provide its technical services and product knowledge to the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Thailand. To serve our customers better, Caterpillar (Thailand) Limited was incorporated in April 1998.

In recent years, Caterpillar has made significant investments in its manufacturing footprint in Thailand including the construction of two new facilities which began in 2011 in Rayong Province. Caterpillar’s Underground Mining Facility started production in October 2012, while Caterpillar’s Rayong Tractor Facility started production in May 2013, mainly for export to our global customers. Over the next five years, these two Caterpillar facilities are expected to reach full production, making Thailand among our largest manufacturing footprints in ASEAN.

Besides manufacturing, Caterpillar also has significant commercial operations in Thailand with many of our employees holding regional responsibilities. Caterpillar’s Bangkok Distribution Services Office have responsibility for the marketing of Cat machines and engines and the provision of spare parts of servicing to our customers in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Myanmar through Cat authorized dealers. Caterpillar Leasing (Thailand) Limited, established in June 1997, provides a multitude of customized financial solutions that are tailored to the unique business requirements of our customers.

In total, Caterpillar employs over 1,200 people in Thailand. Our local Thai authorized dealer provides employment to over 1,200 employees with 30 dealers branches located across the country. We are committed to offering our customers in Thailand and the region with a wide range of quality products and services that help make progress possible.
