Sanofi-aventis Thailand is part of Sanofi, a global and diversified healthcare leader, discovers, develops and distributes therapeutic solutions focused on patients' needs. Sanofi has its roots registered as Hoechst in Thailand since 1959. The company today has grown organically as well as through various mergers and acquisitions; at present there are almost 450 employees.

Sanofi group in Thailand is composed of two companies:
- Sanofi-aventis (Thailand) Ltd. which addresses the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare markets whereby the company also has its footprint in rare disease market;
- Sanofi Pasteur Ltd. which focuses on the human vaccine market. The company has established, in 1997, a joint venture company with the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) and the CPB Equity Co., Ltd., called the GPO-MBP Ltd. manufacturing vaccines for local public needs as well as for export.
